    Strava Changes

Not sure how many on here use Strava, but I have for some time. I noticed they have made changes to restrict route planning to subscribers only. I'm not tight, but I only use it to plan a route or post a ride for friends to see, I don't need 90% of the other stuff. Question is, what else it...

    How Light do you ride.

Ok so not really eBike related, but it can be. On a normal day out I carry everything I think I will need, especially as I can be 20 miles into the hills in the middle of nowhere, it’s just what I like to do. So I carry everything I might possible need, and my backpack weighs in around 15Kg...

    Extra Battery Dilemma.

So here is my dilemma. I have been trying to locate a Bosch 12v Travel charger for my ebike, so I can charge the battery when in the campervan. Sadly I cannot find one anywhere, as they appear to be no longer available, why I don’t know. So I was thinking about a second bike battery, so I...

    Went a bit far

I decided to strip my bike down to give it a good clean.... think I took it a bit far. If anyone is interested, taking the Bosch Performance CX motor out is simple and there are only 3 bolts. Gave it all a damn good clean and now it's like new..... now to get it dirty again :D

    Easy Come ....East Go...

Spotted this eBike "chained" up at work the other day. Hope the owner realises, buy taking the front wheel off you can walk away with the best bits of the bike.... It was in a cage with a combination padlock on, but as it it used by all, I have often seen the padlock and the cage left open...

    Who's Brave Enough...

Ok slightly misleading title, but it's just to get you to read it.. Is anyone brave enough to leave their (very expensive) eBike padlocked anywhere. Often thought it would be the ideal bike to cycle to work, say on a Friday. But once at work, I can't bring it into the office, therefore it has...

    Glasses wearers please read.

As you get to my age you inevitably need glasses… problem. How do you wear your glasses and still use some sort of sunglasses. I need my glasses to see my GPS on the handle bars as I prepare my routes beforehand and download them to the GPS… follow the line and I’m back at the car. This...

    Just for info.

I know we are all different with different bikes batteries and abilities but I was just interested as how far or how high anyone has gone on a full charge. My biggest ride so far is 26 miles with a total of 2316ft of ascending, and I still had battery left, that's with the Bosch CX motor and...

Spare Battery.... expensive luxury, or twice the fun.

Not sure if I saw this comment on this forum or not, but I can’t find it again if I did. Question was, does anyone carry a spare battery, along with the one fitted to the bike. Thought about getting a smaller wattage spare battery, just to keep in the backpack. I know it’s an expensive...

    Endurance Grips

Does anyone use endurance grips, like those pictured. (ignoring the colour). What are the advantage/purpose of them, thought about getting a set for the MTB, only to see if they would assist with peddling whilst standing, but to me the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. I would be interested...

    Purion Display Battery

Hi All, I have the Bosch performance CX motor on my bike, with the Purion display. After a few weeks of ownership, I switched it off one day after the ride, and the display scrolled "change display battery". No problems there, except I thought, "they didn't last long". Anyway new batteries...

    EBike Chains

Hi All, does anyone know if e'bike chains are different (stronger) than normal bike chains. I have an 11 speed on my Cube e'bike, no problem there, but I have noticed a few websites selling such a chain for up to £40. Are they trying to rip me off or are e'bike chains different or stronger, as...

    Do You Insure Your Bike

Just phoned my Insurance company (Direct Line) to add the new ebike to the house policy. Bearing in mind the bike cost £2399, they have charged an extra £9.90 per month to add the one ebike to the insurance. Question is do others insure their bikes, if so how, through the house insurance or...

    New Bike Charging Question

Hi All, just got my first ebike at the weekend, fantastic machine. I did 25 miles or so on Sunday, and my battery is still 3/4 charged. Question is, is it best to run the battery down to almost nothing before re-charging, or can you just charge and discharge these batteries at any point...

    Interesting Question

Hi, I was thinking about my bike today and how it knows what speed I am doing. Yup the little magnet on the rear wheel spoke. So I thought, what if it becomes loose and drops off while bouncing about the hills, will this stop the pedal assist from working, as it won’t know if the wheel is...

    Strictly Motors

I was talking online to a company about the purchase of my new Ebike, unfortunately the nice discount model I wanted didn't come in my size, anyway the sales guy mentioned that the Bose or Brose Motor (couldn't quite make it out) was just as good if not better than the Bosch. He specifically...

    Hard tail or full sus

Not sure weather to buy a hard tail bike or full sus. I don't want to part with £2000 on a good hard tail only to regret it a few months later. I have a "normal" hard tail and full sus and I much prefer the full sus for ironing out the rough bits. I probably won't be doing any MTB red or black...

    Witty Replies

Does anyone have any witty replies, or otherwise, they use when "other" cyclists question their validity on using an E bike. Not looking to get into a lengthy discussion or arguement, just a quick witty one liner. I am also a "proper" cyclist, and have 3 bikes to choose from, but when out on...

    Central Scotland Dealer

Hi, Just in the early stages of looking for an E MTB. A lot of advice on here suggests going to the local dealers to try or just to ask questions. My two nearest E Bike Shops are Edinburgh Cycle Company Granton Road Edinburgh or Electric Bikes Scotland Tannadice Street Dundee. Has anyone...
