Can someone explain how a 350W motor can be limited to 250W?

I used to enjoy this forum. I used to consider myself knowledgeable on the subject of ebikes (a lot of it gleaned from Tony - Flecc) I now find myself an infrequent visitor. Has Flecc become patronising? No, of course not, he's a gentleman. No... It's the ubiquitous Jeremy. Well Jeremy, it's...

    Cycling Honours

Whilst Bradley deserved the honour, I do feel that Steve Redgrave was more deserving. Seems my iPhone agrees as it auto filled his name :)

    Another miscarriage of justice!

I don't think it's limited to extradition. It's a shame that the below is purely fictional :( YouTube

    Better gloves or bar mitts??

The most effective motorcycle gloves for me were heated ski gloves. The ones I have run off small square lithium cells, and are quite expensive. You can buy into heated gloves more cheaply if you can live with some extra bulk. How about these - run off D cells but at £4.69 you probably can't go...

    Road Safety Changes Poll

Does anyone recall the EU SAFERIDER initiative? Saferider | Start It seems to have died a death, but it did gather momentum for a while. Personally, whilst it is entirely hypothetical, I resent the limiting of my ZZR1400 to 300kph on principle. I mean what possible purpose can it serve...

    Ezee battery connection

+1 on Flecc's advice. I have had similar problems and fixed them this way. Just don't overdo it.

Nokia Maps digitises streets to battle Google's threat

I use MotionX. It allows you to download and cache maps to your device (eg using your home network) for instant recall later. It has a whole host of other useful functions as well. Not sure if it's available for Android though. MotionX® | MotionX-GPS Overview

    Lights

I have a pair of lumicycle 4si, one flood and one spot. On boost, they kick out 1120 lumens each. I can't conceive of ever needing anymore, and you can't run them on boost if you're stationary, due to the heat (they automatically switch down). Lumicycle are now selling 3XML lights @ 3000...

    Hi from Hampshire

Hi Andy Well, there is Petersfield Cycles, and Cytronex at Winchester to consider also. You don't state your budget, but you may find their stealth approach might very well suit. If you can get to Denmead, I'd happily show you (completely unbiased) the pros and cons of the three different types...

    Eurovision

They could make the whole thing quicker if they dispensed with the "music". After all, it has no bearing on the result. Reminds me of the Father Ted episode featuring 'my lovely horse'.

What would be your ultimate spec ebike, money no object

My ideal bike? As others have said, it depends on how/where it will be used, however as an all rounder, and at the risk of abuse: Ezee Torq mk1 (offroad mode) Marathon plus tyres 20ah battery Twin lumicycle lights Oh - that would be my bike ;)

    Fibre Optic Broadband

I've had. Nothing but bad experiences with BT, and things were only marginally better when using other suppliers that still relied on the BT infrastructure. I eventually switched to Virgin, enticed by the offer of 50mb . That increased to 100mb for no extra charge, and then 120 mb The last...

Is there any hub drive bike worth paying more than £1700?

My Tonxgin is nominally 180w, but outputs 400+ The S Bafang in my Torq, nominally 250w outputs 1080w The unknown and unmarked nominally 500w motor in my generic Chinese bike I believe only outputs around 800w. Due to its dimensions (thin, but large diameter) to my eyes it looks decidedly...

Is there any hub drive bike worth paying more than £1700?

I believe there is and will remain a market for high end hub bikes, but I guess it is probably small I still love my 15kg Cytronex Synapse - I also love my mk1 Torq. They are very different, but I still use both weekly. I would never buy crank drive personally.

    Demo of locked bike theft

Early in my career, I worked as the branch repo man. I 'stole' hundreds of cars, using slim jims, spec lifts & all manner of other methods. Only once did a misguided member of the public interfere (by giving chase)
