Just to balance things... In my case (Trek with Gen2 Performance CX) the motor, having done 9,117 trouble-free miles, died 10 weeks after the 2 year guarantee period expired. Took it to a Bosch accredited agent who took it up with Bosch. End result... a replacement motor as a 'goodwill...

I have two Treks, both with 500W Bosch batteries and have been swapping them for the past 2 years without any problem.

Well... diagnostics first, then cost of courier to Bosch and eventually fit the motor. To be honest I was so relieved to get a new motor from Bosch free as a "goodwill gesture" on an out-of-warranty bike I was happy to pay!

I had an identical problem with a Trek/Performance CX/Intuvia (@ 9,000 miles/2.25 years). Just like yours nothing on the diagnostic so the motor was sent to Bosch who found "faults" and replaced the motor free of charge. I still had to pay £75 for labour as it was out of guarantee but so far...

Totally agree with the above - I have two Suntours and wouldn't be without them. With my first one (mostly road & track use) I wasn't sure it made that much difference... until I swapped back to the original seatpost which immediately emphasised just how much difference the Suntour seatpost...

Update... after 12 days and 211 miles the new Intuvia failed! Exactly the same fault as its predecessor. Back to my LBS, Bosch diagnostic failed to find anything significant so the motor unit is now going back to Bosch for assessment.

My Powerfly 7 is covered by my household insurance (Lloyds Bank through Saga) who said it should be a Gold Standard lock attached to an immovable object.

I have been using the On-Guard Brute 8001 daily for a couple of years. The lock mechanism still works fine although one end cap fell off when I wasn't looking, the crossbar cover eventually came off and the 'double rubber' covering needed reinforcing with gaffer tape. But not bad for £20.

FYI... In my case (last week/Performance CX) the Intuvia stopped talking to the rest of the system - no speed, no motor info, no go! Bosch diagnostic @LBS showed error 4B0 (software fault in the Intuvia). Over 2 years old so bought a replacement (£70) and all back to normal.

Final-script: Diagnostics revealed Intuvia Control software fault 4B0 so a replacement ordered. It arrived today and... I'm back on the road again! WooHoo!

I have a Trek with a Bosch Performance CX and 500W battery. Just over two years old (of course) and 8,900 trouble-free miles on the clock. So far, so good. Yesterday, half way through a 30 mile ride (beer break!) the parked bike got knocked over by a dog and the battery hit a rock on its way...

Like Deno, I have a Bosch CX system which has done 8,000 miles in the past 24 month. Not dongled (I like numeric accuracy and am happy with the maximum of 16 mph assist), has a small drop in battery range (maybe 10%) and absolutely no play at the crank. This is 80% tarmac and 20% dry(ish)...

What is even stranger is that just days before the incident Lord Winston had raised concerns about aggressive cycling in the House of Lords - and then he get 'attacked'. Bit too much of a coincidence if you ask me! Hang on a minute, "Aggressive cycling in the House of Lords" !:D Nuff said!

My Performance Line CX has been noisy from day one (2 years ago) - a very obvious whine but after a while I simply stopped hearing it and that was 7,680 miles ago! And still no play in the crank.
