eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I live fairly close to Uberbike, not sure if they are a shop where customers can visit or just mail order.

    Bosch 503 Error

Hoping I've managed to fix this, if only temporarily? Removed the Badass dongle, checked battery and it is still 100% power. Readjusted the magnet and (without dongle fitted) went for a ride, still got the error code. Removed the magnet, waved it past the sensor as fast as I could a few times so...

    Bosch 503 Error

Haven't tried it without the dongle yet. I was riding home from work when the motor cut off and the error displayed. Had to walk home pushing the bike, as without the motor I couldn't get up the steep hill home. I'll have a play with it later in the week when I have time to experiment, and...

    Changing chain & chainring?

Wanting to change my 17T front chainring back to a 15T to help with riding up steep hills. My current 11 speed chain is reading .25 so not ready for changing yet but would it be advisable to change it anyway if fitting a new chainring? KMC e11 chain £33 15T chainring £17 Replacement Bosch O...

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Just noticed I've lost one of the two fixing bolts from the lowest mounting points of the rack, been wondering what the rattling was. I believe they are called M5 15mm Hex Socket Cap Head bolts according to these instructions I have found, there are two of them that thread into the bike frame...

jimmy no longer recells bosch battery's !

My Cube/Bosch CX bike is 4yrs old now, it has a Bosch 500 battery which only gives me 20 miles range, but then I do have Badass dongle fitted so the battery/motor will be working more than otherwise. My commute is 5 miles each way, though I don't really use the motor above 15mph much as i'm...

jimmy no longer recells bosch battery's !

Bosch 500 batteries still seem to be around the £700 mark. Not sure I would be prepared to spend that on a battery if mine failed, I'd rather put that towards a new ebike, but then how do you sell your current bike if it doesn't have a working battery?

Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 625 AllRoad

That's good, wasn't sure if people like Bosch had developed software to prevent them working. I wouldn't like to ride mine without it being derestricted.

Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 625 AllRoad

I'm using a Badass, I wonder if one could still be used on current Cubes, even of the magnet is on the rotor?

Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 625 AllRoad

Great looking bike. Can't go wrong with a Cube ebike, I have a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 29er that I use for commuting. I have some steep inclines on my ride home and I just can't do them on a non ebike. I've derestricted mine as I didn't like the resistance above 15mph, can the current Cubes be...

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Thread resurrection... Fed up with getting wet feet when riding in the rain, today whilst swapping over from summer road tyres to my nobles I also fitted a SKS Velo 65 Mountain 29" Rear Mudguard (as recommended by other members here) to the 'front' wheel of my Cube Race. With rear mudguards...

well plod ceased my m8s ebike last night

If the police can prove its a derestricted ebike they will regard it as a Road Traffic Accident as street furniture was damaged. The council would normally claim from the motorists insurance, but in this case they may chase him personally for the repairs, or if prosecuted the courts might make...

    Rear derailleur adjustment?

That makes it sound a bit easier than I thought, thanks. My cable is quite badly frayed where it clamps to the derailleur so I ought to replace it. Would I need Shimano cable, or will any cable do as long as it's long enough? are they different thicknesses?

    Rear derailleur adjustment?

The hanger that came with the derailleur was the wrong type, but I used my existing hanger. I now need to figure out how to change the cable as most of it is concealed inside the bike frame. Not sure how a new cable is fed through, im guessing some kind of pull through is needed to act as a guide?

    Rear derailleur adjustment?

Thanks. By coincidence I think I happen to have done some of that just now. I loosened the cable clamp and pulled a few more mm of cable through, then nipped it back up again. It now goes into every gear. I'll give it a test ride tomorrow.

    Rear derailleur adjustment?

Thanks, I'll give those videos a watch Yes, it does need replacing but it threads through the frame so I need to learn how to do that.

    Rear derailleur adjustment?

Any suggestions for my rear derailleur problem pease? My Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur on my Cube Reaction Race bike got twisted so I've fitted an identical replacement. Problem is, I can't get it adjusted correctly. I can change up into each gear fine, but can't get it onto the largest...

    Help! New chain needed ?

It's only fair that I update the above post with a recent discovery that might be the cause of the worn chain. In a different thread I have posted about how a previous snapped chain link got caught up in my rear derailleur and ripped it off its hanger and wrapped it around the cassette... I...
