Tyres Suggestion for Cube Race Reaction 500 2018

I’ve been more than happy with my 2.6 smart sams. Converted them to tubeless very successfully. They have pretty low rolling resistance but are still reasonable off road for grip. Loving the big volume also. So no plans to change. I’d even buy more when they run out.

    Possible motor damage from RTA

coincidentally i bent my left fsa crank on my cube last sunday at hamsterly. i oversteered and toppled the bike onto its side pretty heavily. when riding off the pedal was oscillating and i thought i’d bent the pedal axle but it was the crank. i’ve swapped a different isis crank for it and it...

Bosch CX Failure - Early Symptoms

i took my reaction race back to the shop a few weeks ago for an unresponsive purion button. when i finally got it back 3 weeks later it had a new purion display but also a new motor. when i asked about the motor they said it felt a bit rough so requested a warranty replacement. i must admit it...

Bosch CX fitted to Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPA - Which removal tool for sprocket?

Hi Fro. my mate has just got the same bike as yours. 2017 160mm HPA. in silver. his chain also rubs on the motor cover. my 2018 reaction, same one as ballynoes has no such problem. there’s a good couple of millimetres clearance. Are bosch supplying a redesigned cover?

Cube Reaction Race 500 Puncture Issues and Limited Tyre Choice

hi steve. i have the red/orange 2018 reaction race. i've had it since october and done about 500 miles. no problems. i don't live that far from you in sunderland. so similar trails i expect. i've done the commute to durham, hamsterly , chopwell and even thrunton woods. even though i'd had no...

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

long delayed update. finally took my bike in for its complimentary service. i mentioned the speed discrepancy and also asked if with payment they'd be willing to take the spacer out of the judy fork to extend the travel to 120mm. both done and very happy . the speedo matches my garmin just...

    Suitable Bike Carriers

i had the same problem when i got my cube reaction with the battery integrated in the down tube. it's like a ships bow. i bought one of these from a mate who was no longer using it. absolutely awesome and so easy to use for any bike...

mine also doesn't cut out until around the displayed speed of 16.8 but i'm assuming this a soft cut off from 15.5mph rather than a hard end at 16.8 so i'd rather have it accurate. to back that up the displayed speed can be the only speed it knows about.

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

yeah not bad going. i wouldn't say i was disappointed with that range. i got a hell of an upper body workout pushing it up unrideable terrain. although not ultra fit i like to think i have good stamina. i did the coast 2 coast in 1 day just a few years ago. (unpowered obvs).

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

there's no guarantee the garmin was accurate although i did the comparison in the wide open on the flat keeping a steady speed for a little while. i also have a tom tom watch which validated the garmin. it looks like the circumference can't be user amended on the purion so i'll see if the...

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

yep. that's what it seems to be for. took the cube out for its first proper mountain bike ride a few days ago. i did an extended version of the ullswater lakeshore loop taking in lots of severe climbs including a mad ascent from patterdale to boredale hause. 36 miles. 5000ft of climbing...

yep. without going back in the garage to check i would say you're right. i suppose it's to be used if the display locks up and you haven't got your keys to remove it.

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

Picked mine up last Friday but it's either rained or i've been at work ever since. i did manage 10 miles round the doors last Sat morning. it made technical climbs ridiculously easy. not managed to commute on it yet maybe tomorrow. mine is the 17" and didn't come with any holes at all for a...

Viewing rider power readings from bosch motors

If the electronics knows my power output and matches it according to the assist level then can this info be viewed either in real time or historically by some means? Also the same question for cadence. Use of a power meter has tempted me in the past.

    Finally taken the eBike plunge..

a guy at work has a 2017 reaction 400. i had a lend to try commuting on it and i reckon i'd get 40 miles on a full battery using a mixture of eco and tour. a few lumps on my route but nothing major. he's had 60 miles in one day turning the battery off when possible. expecting to get my hands on...

@Ballynoes : thanks for the info pal. much appreciated. i can see why you love it. i'll probably hold off on the dropper for the time being. i've a lever under saddle dropper i could shim into it for when needed.
