    Etech Motion ebikes

Really strange design on the Cargo bike they going for a old school motorcycle drum brake wtf! Hard to imagine that design as lightweight compared to modern bicycle disc brakes.

Replacement motor/controller/wiring loom for Byocycle chameleon

The Volt also has a suspension seat post which I take out and use on the Byocycle also. That could be an option for you in the short term it, does help. Something like this Link

Replacement motor/controller/wiring loom for Byocycle chameleon

Sounds sweet, that's not massively heavy for those specs with your nice big battery. I may try a mid drive conversion with my volt metro when controllers and wires start to corrode etc as they have with the byocycle.

Replacement motor/controller/wiring loom for Byocycle chameleon

I'm not sure that would work with my folding frame, it's very low to the ground already and has the protective bar/rest under the bottom bracket which may inhibit fitting the mid drive motor, what bike do you have? I am quietly confident for a bargain basement refit the kit I have bought will...

Replacement motor/controller/wiring loom for Byocycle chameleon

Thanks for all your enthusiastic replies yay. If anyone is interested I bought the kit above for £147 from ebay.co.uk, it was delivered 4 days later. I am going to install it probably 25th / 26th of April as I'm off work those days.

Replacement motor/controller/wiring loom for Byocycle chameleon

Hi all, Can anyone point me in the direction of a good conversion kit (20" rear wheel) that I can use for my Byocycle Chameleon. I have looked on ebay.co.uk and Amazon and seen this ebay link but I'm not sure of the motor as no details on brand. I have a fairly new 15AH 36v battery which has...

    Hi I'm Jason from Bedford

Too many fools flying around on overpowered scooters atm! I don't want to change the laws for current e-bikes 25kph with no licence needed is great. I have 2 folding bikes atm, a Byocycle Chameleon which I have just respoked the MXUS f06 hub motor to a new rim and a Volt Metro. It's the type...

    Hi I'm Jason from Bedford

Yes, I could build one or buy a cheaper model but not sure how easy it would be to type approve it and get insurance. The government needs to sort the type approval laws as they are strangling a growing market. I would like to have a go at building a bike with a Bafang BBSHD motor at some point.

    Hi I'm Jason from Bedford

Speed pedelecs are already legal and do 28mph they are just ridiculously expensive. I am happy to tax and insure one just want one at a reasonable price. Registered Speed pedelecs I want to be able to carry my bike up to my first floor flat for security I can't do that with a heavy e-moped but...

4th Wisper on order, what to do with the old ones…

My bro is looking for a bike atm Chris you have any pictures? I'm sure he would give u £100 plus for the frame and a good motor. If he just had to add a battery would give him more scope to spend on a better battery.

Help wanted - battery for KTM e-style p

I think It might be easier to adapt to a more modern universal battery. Perhaps buy a battery/ back rack combination and change your connectors to fit the new battery. anything between 36 and 48 volts should be fine though for similar power would go with 48 volts.

    Hi I'm Jason from Bedford

Hi all, I love E-bikes but feel we are being taken for a ride in the UK with specs and prices. I have a full UK motorcycle license, I was a motorcycle courier across the UK for around 7 years between 1990 and 2000 (a lot of time spent going to London and other major cities) was also a young fool...

Petition to legalizing throttle only eBikes for the disabled

I looked at mopeds and motorbikes as I have a full motorcycle license but there is a lot of extra expense, also security issues need to be considered, with a lightweight bike you can take it into your house or flat and with a pushbike you can still use cycle paths. The price of 28mph pedelecs is...

Petition to legalizing throttle only eBikes for the disabled

I can't use my bike at the moment because of a bad knee and it's my only reliable form of transport to and from work. I don't have a car license and couldn't afford to run one if I did, same with a moped or motorcycle. I don't feel that there is any difference using my bike with a throttle or...

UK petition to raise cut-off limit

At the end of the day ebikes are a much more cost-effective way of commuting to work without sweating and stinking when you get there. It is a growing market, roads will be safer with more bikes and less cars (your much less likely to kill someone at 30 mph on a 20-30kg bike than a 1500kg car)...

UK petition to raise cut-off limit

The same problem exists with pedestrians on shared cycle paths and footpaths, the average pedestrian wanders down the cycle path without a care, mothers 3 abreast with pushchairs etc, etc. I will always give pedestrians right of way and take care around them but shared cycle paths can be...

UK petition to raise cut-off limit

Type approving such bikes doesn't look easy and pre-built versions are expensive. Cheaper just to buy a Nui e-moped or similar such vehicle. I like the idea of having a 30mph e-bike as long is it's strong enough, has good breaks etc. I wouldn't mind riding it on the road only and wearing a...

Hi from Jason in Bedford, UK

Hi, I'm Jason from Bedford, I bought my Byocycle Chameleon about a year and a half ago to commute to work and it still puts a smile on my face every day. Ultimately I would love to register, tax and insure a 30mph ebike as I do have a full motorcycle licence but am not currently seeing any...
