Review Haibike Sduro Trekking 4.0 initial impression

I remember now, the screen does come off easily on the Haibike - useful for a trekker. Let's hope neither of us have need to claim!

Aha, the grey cages at Victoria Place, I know them well. Alas no such luxury in Hastings. Mind you at least you have the advantage of a subdued colour As you can see it spent some time living indoors, but has now been relegated to the garage. I think the answer is that as long as you...

Review Haibike Sduro Trekking 4.0 initial impression

How are you securing it when in town? I am still in that totally paranoid state of 'new bike owner' - spent 5 mins yeterday trying to open my D lock with the wrong key LOL!

    Bespoke Bike Racks???

Does anyone know of a company that makes bespoke bike racks? I have searched far and wide and can only find a company in the US that sells them at eye watering prices. Of course the car is an impractical bike carrier and I can fit mine inside - Just! but I want to take a second bike for my...

Good review Paul. I test drove that bike at Bodiam 3 times over the past month and I came very close to buying, but like you found those front forks wanting, but I knew that I would be using over some rough stuff, so was super critical of this aspect. I then compared against some air shocks...

Bike for a 70 year old.

If you go for a folder, just make sure you get reasonably sized wheels. The smaller the wheels the less stable it is. I have just sold two Bromptons for this very reason, as they are OK in a city but on any sort of roughness they are skittish.

First Post - Be Kind :-)

Well since my initial post it has been days of research and flipping between the Haibike Trekking and an e-mtb. A decision had to be made! Nefarious's comment above just reinforced my inner voice saying I would enjoy an e-mtb, but budget only led me to bikes I was not entirely happy with...

Could you expand on the 'motor drag'. As a newbie to electric bikes I have not heard of this

Thanks Benjahmin, a very good point. I guess I am hoping that the 'dodgy knee' can be improved. It was as a result of undertaking the Camino di Santiago last year (walking). Docs have suggested it is wear & tear and offered support of anti inflammatories. Didn't want that and would prefer to...

Interesting, yes I have toyed with the idea of a MTB against some form of trekking/hybrid bike, but as they come with fatter tyres, isn't the rolling resistance increased and therefore reduced battery life/range?

Good idea, wt least worth a try. Thanks again for the input

Thanks for the reply. Whilst we love the ability to easily travel with the Bromptons, the big downside for us was the skittish nature of the small front wheel. Going fast downhill is positively dangerous. Having more weight in the hub on the front I would have thought should improve the...

Thanks Jonah for the reply. Couldn't help notice you have electrified your Bromptons. Could I ask how that has worked out as I guess that could be an option for me.

My scenario - Just retired, problem with right knee and live in a hilly area. Looking to buy 2 x electric touring bikes with some off road ability for wife & myself, and sell our existing Bromptons which are rarely used - due to the hills! Went to e-bikes in Bodiam, test drove a hub driven...
