    EU Red Tape Bonfire

I think your bike is an untaxed/insured electric motorcycle, no? So moped is probably nearer the mark than bicycle.

    lubricating hub motor internal freewheel

I would guess ordinary grease or teflon grease? It looks like water is getting in, so I would look at trying to prevent that if you can.

    Tongsheng vlcd5

That seems quite reasonable to me - I think pretty much any product, if you flash it with 3rd party firmware, that would void the warranty. Re the vlcd05, yes the display is pretty basic, just speed, trip, odo etc, and a basic idea of battery charge. But that's been all I've really needed to use...

    Stuck at the lights

The sensors are not correctly adjusted, they should be triggered by bikes, so you should report this to the council or whoever is responsible for them.

Hub motor and V brakes - how long will the rim last?

The biggest factor isn't weight or speed, it's how clean the rims/pads are. If you ride a lot in wet/gritty conditions, and you don't keep the rims clean you can wear out rims pretty quickly, in clean/dry conditions they might last 10x longer. It's worth buying good quality pads too like...

Cyclist jailed after Tower Hamlets hit-and-run death

14 years max for death by dangerous driving, only the worst cases get the maximum, assuming the driver is charged at all.

Cyclist jailed after Tower Hamlets hit-and-run death

His mistake was hitting someone on a bike. If he'd been driving a car he'd probably have got away with a slap on the wrist.

Spreading rear stays for hub motor

You shouldn't have a problem patching a modern inner tube, can only assume there is contamination or user error. If you don't want to fix punctures, then sealant in the tubes, marathon plus tyres or similar will reduce the no. of punctures.

    new cassette and chain???

I suggest you buy a chain wear checking tool or use a ruler to measure wear on the chain, and replace the chain no later than .75% elongation, that way you'll get more life out of the cassette and chainrings. At that mileage there's a good chance the chain is worn out. Your gearchange problems...

Decathlon Riverside 500 e price increase

As well as brexit and high demand, the price of shipping has gone up dramatically due to covid. Decathlon are usually very competitive on price, I don't think price-gouging is their normal business model.

Can you buy a battery on the Cycle to work scheme?

I don't think that's correct - the rules have changed so you can buy accessories too: https://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/the-rules-of-cycle-to-work

    does continous discharge current matter

I don't think it has - the reliability issues e.g. blue gear, sprag clutch have been there from the start. At least it's easy to get parts and fix if you have a problem.

Another perk for your Member of Parliament.

I don't really see what your problem is with this - it's just the same scheme as many other workers have access to, and the 20p/mile allowance is what hmrc allows for use of a bike for business.

Help! Advice on Ebike for chronically ill human

It might be worth looking at buying a new hybrid bike - you might find with working gears on a lighter bike you find you can cope ok (26kg bike with only 1 gear working? that's gonna be hard work for anyone), then look at fitting a conversion kit if necessary. Otherwise think more carefully...

TSDZ2 Crank fell off - what spec for replacement nut?

Always worth doing them up well, and rechecking after you ridden a few miles. Trouble with them coming loose is that riding with loose crank for even a shortish distance can damage the crank and spindle, and then it will never stay tight.
