Thanks Nealh for this info, it certainly puts me in the direction of a sccondhand wheel. I think I will just take the covers of the motor and see if there is anything obviviously wrong.

Thanks for quick response, the motor has definitly gone I borrowed an identical wheel and motor hub and the bike did 20 mile no bother. Used the WD40 to loosen the gunge up then put 3in1 light oil on the mechanisms. Thanks for lead on the repair contact.

My Carrera Crossfire Suntour Motor has failed. Unfortunately Halfords wont look at it as it was an Ebay purchase. The unit has only done about 700 miles so it is worth a repair. Can anyone please recommend a ebike motor repairer. I may have caused the problem myself by spraying WD40 on the rear...
