Aldi bike stand £29.99 Thurs 20th April

Bought one from Aldl/Lidli about 3 years ago, works fine with my Raleigh Motus , which is not super light .Also handy in DIY when a third hand is needed . Well worth the twenty quid I paid .

Is this a technical breach of the law? Uncertain

Surely just a case of being sensible , if nobody else is inconvenienced then why not ? But if you’re a hazard to pedestrians then demount and walk .

Route / Trail Apps Do you use them?

Personally , being an antediluvian dinosaur in this area , I prefer O.S.maps . Have just sussed out that I have been using them for over 50 years ....

    Protective Gear

My budget solution is a cycle jacket from Aldl/Lidli , which has been great for 3 + years, zips are the weak point.Good up to moderate rain , if its tipping down I use standard Peter Storm (Milletts) cagoule over the top .I also have PS overtrousers which I use most days to keep the mud off ...

Bosch Power pack 400 on a KT equipped bike?

If you mean a Bosch ebike battery , it will not work,Bosch use their own system and the controller, Battery Management system and motor must match ,or you will just convert the battery to a very expensive brick . Bosch power tool batteries have been used , best ask Whoosh about this . If you...

    Rechargeable heated gloves

I agree with this method , have 2 pairs of ski gloves from Aldl / Lidli , keep 1 set up the jacket and change when the cold starts biting . Just a point, they must have small hands in Germany , cos I have the largest size and no way can I get silk inners inside even tho' my hands are not that...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

I had a BSA 650cc A10 with sidecar for a few months , what a grin that was , especially roundabouts , get under/over steer just by moving your weight about .

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Sadly , 'lycra louts' are all too common and are the biggest hassle on shared paths IMHO , topping old ladies with dogs and girls with mobiles LOL .Once they have worked to get their expensive kit up to (well over ebike) speed they will not give way , expect everyone to get out of their way...

Whyte Cambridge 2018 - Will this bottom bracket work with TongSheng TSDZ2?

VFR , that's a superb summation of the situation , expect to be pestered for tips as I build my super-commuter next year .My Motus will return to what I got it for , long rides into the Peak District where the CD works really well, no doubt you will tell me that a 48v hub will do just as well...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Best not to make a fuss about this IMHO , many e-bikes are well capable of 20 mph with minor mods, just use the speed sensibly , take extra care on shared paths etc..The thing is, if limit raised to 20 mph, people will push it to 25-30, and then you will get compulsory motor bike helmets...

Hi everyone, i'm new to electric bikes, hoping to purchase one in the next 1-2 weeks!

It all depends .... Personally I have a Motus Grand Tour , and I love it , commute on it , shop on it , do long leisure rides on it . I went for the Centre Drive because a lot of my cycling is in hilly areas .If you do not weigh too much and cycle in relatively flat areas , a hub drive is...

How many of you also own and ride a regular bike?

To get closer to the OP's post , I also own a super rubbish Ammoco Mtb that cost me £20 , rode it 4 miles to and from work while I had to . Very tempted to stick a front wheel kit in it tho' , just as emergency back up. Its built like a bridge , but weighs about the same , reckon my Motus is...

    Variable battery charger?

I have to agree , the system has far better knowledge than it shows , and is based on far too short a history , go up a hill your range is halved , coast down one , its doubled , but the BMS will cut out even if you know you can get home , just 'cos of the last hill , one of the irritations of...

Hello from a newbie in North Wales

Best of luck , you will not regret it . My current bike ( excuse the pun ) has just turned 1 year old, still gets me grinning, even on the way to work in a downpour .When I go for a fun ride, it lasts for hours :D , I am saving for a 2nd battery , but 1 of the bad sides of proprietary kit is...
