    AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W

There isn't a speed limit wire on the controller, I checked. Is it likely the controller has a default 250rpm limit? I've read I might need a display to change the default setting.

    AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W

I've put a magnetic on the hub and I have a counting meter. After 60 seconds 250 is displayed on the meter. I also noticed that the motor gets to maximum speed on about half throttle. Thanks

    AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W

Hello, The AKM-100CST motor, recommended controller and throttle arrived. I've got it on a trueing stand but the most I can get out of the motor 250rpm with a 36v battery. I should get 328rpm. Don't have display. Any suggestions? Thanks ---------- AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W EBike Rear...

    AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W

I am told that most geared hub motors have clutches so the hub will turn freely when not powered. Does anyone know whether the AKM-100CST Cassette 36V250W from topbikekit.com has a clutch? I have tried asking Topbikekit but I am not convinced they have understood me. Thanks

A little extra help for an aging commuter...

Umm, not convinced yet, but there's time! In order for speed to be controlled by pulses to the winding the controller would need to know the maximum rpm of the motor then distribute power across the throttle range, otherwise the maximum speed would defined by the controller regardless of the...

Indeed 30mph would be illegal on a public road and quite rightly!

So when you are riding your pedelec and you set the throttle at a fairly slow speed, will that speed be maintained up a hill without having to increase the throttle? In other words does the controller try to maintain a constant speed or constant power with a given throttle setting? Thanks

A little extra help for an aging commuter...

I think for now I'll settle for 328 rpm and see how that goes. I've had a good look around Topbikekit so will probably goes with them, they look a bit more professional that BMSBattery. Thanks

A little extra help for an aging commuter...

Great thanks, I don't know how I missed the Q100c, which is a better fit but still 70 rpm short of perfect. When I was at school the only way you could reduce the current for a given load was to reduce the voltage but that would also reduce the rpm. Has the world moved on?

A little extra help for an aging commuter...

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I'm looking for a hub motor of about 250w that is capable of about 400 rpm. The closest I can find is 500w and 328 rpm (Q128c) which is more power than I really want. Is it possible to re-gear a hub motor to reduce torque and increase rpm...
