    Trek Allant+ 8 for touring

I would be inclined to think your bike will serve you very well. Regarding mid drive motors and chain wear, I would not worry about it to much. I have a tern gsd which is regularly loaded with huge loads, and has never missed a beat. I hope you enjoy your bike as much as I enjoy mine

I couldn't agree more, look at all the retro stuff available these days. From fridges to radios, cars and motorbikes etc. As for people stating that e bikes are unreliable and parts are scarce, the same could be said for my lambretta, that hasn't stopped them developing a cult status. I think us...

Love mine, l have a lambretta gp 200 and a vespa px 200. I was meant to be at Whitby last weekend for the first rally of the year but this bloody lockdown buggered that up! I will just have to content myself with restoring my old gs instead

Hi all, I spent yesterday servicing my old scooters and my daughters bicycle. Just as I was finishing her bike she wandered in and asked me what my 1st bike was l showed her a picture of it on Google (raleigh chopper in metal flake purple) and was amazed at how much they are now worth. The same...

    E bike intolerance

So true, I used to think I was working class until I started driving a bus. Now I realise I'm middle class!

How do your store your e-bike?

I am very lucky, as I have a tern gsd which stores vertically on its own rear rack. Its just as well in my garage as there is the family car, the kids bikes my folding bike, my gsd and 2 vespas and 1 lambretta. I hope you find a solution. Mine is a bigger garage!

    E bike intolerance

Hi all, We needed some essentials today, so I got up bright and early and headed for the local supermarket. As it has been a nice sunny day I decided to use my bike instead of the family car. It was about 8:45 when I arrived and there was sizeable queue outside, so I locked up my bike retrieved...

    Lockdown

Our depot is currently running at about 30% staff levels. This addressed the social distance issues with communal areas. P. P. E (gloves, hand sanitiser etc) has been made available to all staff. The bottom line is this, anyone dealing with the general public is at risk no matter what...

    Lockdown

Our company have the same precautions in place, to be honest that's pretty much all that can be done. As a bus driver you have to accept that it is a public facing job but I feel that we are much less at risk than say a supermarket cashier. Our public interaction is quite brief, whereas ringing...

    Lockdown

Yeah, last month or so has been a bit rough. I have been doing a bit of everything, driving on routes that I don't normally do as well as my own rota. To be fair my company has been on the ball with driver safety and have protected us as well as they could. I am glad to be off the road for a...

    Lockdown

9 Until yesterday I was still working. I have been put on a 3 month furlough. For the last 2 weeks I have been living in my Motorhome as my wife and kids have been in isolation and as a key worker I have had to keep away. My depot Management team allowed me to park up in a quiet corner and...

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

I am I am currently using my ebike as a delivery vehicle for the local old folk during this uncertain time. They give me shopping orders, and I go and collect them. I have even taken a couple to medical appointments on the back. It looks as though the whole country is about to grind to a...

Hi rob Thanks for the offer but I hav Thanks RobF, But I have already purchased my thud buster. I find it makes a massive difference on my bike as I have a rigid frame. It made my cold ride to work at 3.15am almost bearable!

    Decathlon rockrider est900

Hi all, I have been offered a decathlon mountain bike at a really good price. How easy would it be to convert this into a more commuter friendly spec (mudguards rack etc). Does anyone out there use a mountain bike for this purpose?

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

My e bike (tern gsd s00) has probably been the best purchase I have ever made. I am a bus driver, and in 2018 had a slight heart scare causing my driving licence to be temporarily revoked. I am back at work now (after a lot of lifestyle changes) and decided to replace my car with an electric...

    Tern gsd s00 review

Hi LeighPing, Like I said, it is not an uncomfortable bike, just firm. Most seat posts have an up and down action. The thud buster is a parallelagram design (more back and down) and I think it would suit my commute better. Maybe when my mushy old butt firms up a bit it won't matter as much!
