Thanks for coming back to me. I’ve tightened it slightly and it seems ok now - I just need to be careful and not tighten it too much otherwise if doesn’t select the highest gear. I also re-indexed my gears; I figured as it’s a new bike it’ll need tweaking for a while until the cable stops...

Fair point - I’m going to go with the shear bolts (if I can get the right size) and maybe still down some epoxy resin - that should be enough to prevent too much arguing with an insurer should unfortunate happen

Thanks all just went for the Halfords stand as I can collect that tomorrow en route to the weekly shop. I’ve discovered a rattling sound at that occurs when maintaining a medium/fast constant speed so need to see if something has come loose

Im waiting for this bike to be delivered - is there a nack to selecting the gears so not to put too much strain on the drive train or is it just the same as changing gears on a non assisted bike?
