Ladies ebike conversion and battery location

A female friend has asked me to build her an ebike. Problem is she wants a ladies bike with the deep step through. I don't want to mount the battery to a rear rack, as the kit I'm looking at comes with a tube mounted battery. Would putting it on the top tube be OK? I realise that that would...

Help! Need some shifter advice please

So, got my fat ebike up and running great. However the previous owner fitted a 7 speed SRAM MRX Comp twist shifter. On the trails I'm riding I accidently change gear occasionally when riding over bumpy surfaces, so they have to go. The bike is fitted with hydraulic brakes, so will need...

Help! Help and advice with cassette choice needed.

Hi all, Just bought a Woosh Bafang G06 fat kit for my fat bike with 26" wheels. I'm about to order a 7 speed cassette for it. But need help on deciding which to get. The Bafang G06 hub requires a cassette and looking at my options I'm getting confused! The bike is currently fitted with a...

Fat bike - mid vs rear hub

OK, so I most recently decided I wasn't going to get a fat bike, although it was my initial reason for getting into ebikes. I instead bought a Woosh Fat Boy and also built my first conversion just the other week using a Trek mountain bike! Well unfortunately someone local to me was selling a...

    Anyone got a Garmin Edge?

Bought a used Garmin Edge 705 of ebay. Seems to work fine. Thought I'd test it out today as I had to go somewhere in the car (no cycling today). My question is, can and how can I get better maps. All I could see were the main roads and no details, no side roads, but just a few A and B roads? as...

What type/spec bike is best for trail riding

Probably not strictly an eMTB question, but feel I might get the best answer here. Warning long post ahead. I have recently restarted cycling after some 30+ years and quickly realised I'm nowhere near as fit as I was in my younger years, so I bought an ebike. Another thing I have noticed is the...

How many of you also own and ride a regular bike?

Wasn't too sure whether to post this in general chat, but it is ebike related, I think? Just put up for sale my 35+year old road bike as it is now too uncomfortable to ride. But it got me thinking how many people own both regular bikes and ebikes and ride them both. I've gone from 2 regular...

OK what am I missing with this battery>>>>>

https://de.aliexpress.com/item/4000497633702.html Not necessarily looking to buy off aliexpress, but am I missing something? Is this worth looking at, will it work on a 48v 250w motor with a suitable controller?

    First kit just bought

Well, after purchasing my first ebike just over 3 weeks ago, I've already picked up a cheap second hand conversion kit to fit to an old existing mountain bike. Actually I have already fitted the kit to the bike today, but waiting for a crank tool so I can fit the PAS sensor. Having never...

First funny moment on an ebike

So, I have had my ebike now for just over 3 weeks, been out on it 6/7 times. Today I got my first funny moment. Me, cycling up a long moderately steep hill keeping at around 10 mph. Another quite large rider riding on the path on my right. He's well ahead of me, but going slow, so I catch him...

Best way to a safe recharge of your batteries?

With a lot of talk about being safe on the roads I wanted to instead ask the question of how to best safely charge your batteries. What is the advice from those that know on how to best make sure you are charging your battery safely. I currently only charge mine during the day in the house on...

Misleading advertising 250w power rating ebikes - not

I've noticed lately that there are a few sellers advertising some ebikes as either less powerful than they are or the other way around. I have seen a bike that has a 1000w motor advertised as being 250w and a 500w as 750w. Now a fully understand that the rating of 250w is just a continuous...

500w/750w geared rear hub vs mid drive for off road use?

So i have access to a piece of private land with rolling hills, dirt tracks. No jumps or any of that stuff, just a combination of fields, hills and some wooded areas. My 250w road ebike isn't really suitable for this type of riding, plus I quite like to keep it for road use and not damage it...

    Oh dear noob battery error

Just a warning to those also new to ebikes. Make sure you lock your battery in position properly. Had mine follow me down a steep tarmac road today. I honestly thought I'd locked it securely in place? Luckily all seems fine with the battery except for a few scrapes and scratches. Lesson learned.

Just bought a used Woosh Fat Boy

Hi all, not long joined and was initially after a fat bike to convert into a fat ebike. Having been let down a few times in trying to buy a fat bike and knowing conversion kits are thin on the ground in the UK, I just bought a used Woosh Fat Boy and will be picking it up tomorrow. Still tempted...

    Hi all

Hey all, I'm Mike and new to this forum, although I have read quite a few posts over the last few weeks and spent most of the hours of everyday for the last 2-3 weeks reading and watching videos all about ebikes. I'm awaiting a budget Fat Bike to be delivered and the plan is to go electric...
