Help! Ortler control via Bafang go app

I’ve bought an Ortler speeder, it has a similar set up to the ebikemotion system, 250wh concealed down tube battery, rear hub motor, both Bafang in this case. However there’s no bar mounted display unit, the lights, motor assist levels are only changeable via the bafang go app from the Apple /...

New VAT rules for overseas sellers supplying goods to UK customers - Any experiences yet?

I use Bikester, they’re a German outfit, but apply vat at point of sale, so the price you see is what you pay. Their postage is very reasonable too.

    Ortler Speeder or Woosh Faro?

One other thing, if you’re ordering from Bikester, make sure you’re certain, and ordering the right size, because once ordered they’ll ignore any cancellation requests. You end up having to wait the usual 2 weeks, then go through the whole returns process and at least another 2 weeks waiting for...

    Ortler Speeder or Woosh Faro?

I’ve not long ordered one, they seem incredible value when you compare it with similar specked ebikes. Bafang is a massive Chinese company, their hub motors seem to be very reliable and well tested. But …… This bike comes with no bar control unlike the ebikemotion system, simply an on / off...

Bike seat for long commute ?

Saddles are very personal. You can spend a lifetime trying to find the perfect match. I’ve recently invested in an SQlab 160mm one, not cheap, but so far outstrips the c17 cambium saddles I’ve been using on my fleet for comfort . The SQlab doesn’t destroy my shorts either.

    Black.

I use Respo hi viz waistcoats and run daytime bright led lights. It doesn’t stop idiots, but if there’s a subsequent civil case against a driver, it helps with the SMIDSY defence

    Cube Delivery

What size? I'm about to list my 54cm 625 Kathmandu in the classifieds. It was new about 4 months ago and it’s done a whopping 180 miles! It’s the 45kpm speed Pedelec version, not surprisingly in the same condition as when I left the shop. Its one of the nicest bikes I’ve ever owned, but it’s...

Average shipping cost from China to UK?

Yes, I’ve been reading about this today. Like many, I had no idea of the complexities of trying to import a bike from China. Shame, I’ve seen some really appealing bafang equipped cargo bikes that have caught my eye. I gather Brompton, friends to various politicians, are the ones firmly behind...

Average shipping cost from China to UK?

Sorry to resurrect this .... has leaving the EU changed anything, or are we, the UK, still subject to the anti dumping tax like Europe? TIA

Cube Kathmandu pro 625 or Haibike SDuro Trekking 1.0 Mens Electric Hybrid Bike - 2020

I have the Kathmandu. It’s a fantastic bike, everythings well spec’d and feels ‘just so’ if that makes sense? I opted for the 45kmh version, I’m getting 60 miles using the basic two assist modes.

    Orbea Katu E50

Thanks for the replies. When technology moves on, as it always will, how are folks with older bikes finding the search for a new battery? Or is refurbishment the only option left?

    Orbea Katu E50

Hi. Orbea Katu and Cube Kathmandu 45 owner here. Been riding 36 years, and discovered electricity back in July, quickly leading onto a second Cargo purchase in the way of a Katu e50. Just joined the forum. First post if anyone’s got advice: My Katu achieves about 23 miles, mid level...
