Looking to sell my alien aurora now that im riding a normal bike now. Bought in march 2011 its done in the region of 2.5-3k miles? (speedo stopped working) Used daily to ride 8 miles each way to work at high speed ;) always peddling as im not that unfit! Its grubby with scratches all over so...

An aurora kit would work really well on a good quality frame, they are fast enough already!

May have fixed it already, I opened up the junction box at the front which is not exactly sealed very well and found two bits of solder on the back of the board had some silver crap on them which i cleaned off with contact cleaner and the bike started to work. I hope that's all it was??

For the first time so far my aurora is playing silly buggers for some reason, I was about 6 miles in to my ride to work when the motor just cut out. I tried turning it off and on as you do but nothing, so I struggled on under my own steam (hard work!) whilst also still turning it of and on again...

I think providing you could handle a 21" inch frame the alien aurora could suit your needs, its not legal in the motor department but i have found it to be a solid bike. Ive done over 1300 miles since getting mine in february and regularly tow my daughter in her large double trailer/carrier...

I ride to work on my aurora using pedal assist on high mostly, I only use throttle when I'm towing my daughter behind in the trailer. And I never use it with no power, it's too much like hard work......:D

Thanks for that John, I have an old bike here I don't use and was looking to remove the chain off of that to use for now. I know that shimano do a few different types of chain but seeing as the aurora is sporting very low spec gear the chain cannot be all that special, hopefully. Off to the shed...

I lost my chain at some point today on the way home and was wondering if anyone with an aurora could tell me what spec chain the bike has as standard? Still got home on time despite my lack of pedaling...not sure what that says about me or the bike!:)

Without naming names Aldby what part of mk was this bike shop in? I was thinking of taking my bike to a shop to get the spokes tightened.:confused: Or I could just find a spoke key that fits and do it myself.

This is what i feel aswell, in milton keynes most dog walkers and pedestrians seem to take no notice of other redway users and just take up the whole redway or allow their dog which is on the lead to straddle the WHOLE redway.:mad: I love dogs to death and have two of them, but when im out and...

I use cyclemeter on my non android :p phone and it works well although its not free. :( I will see if sports tracker is any good for my phone.

Something doesn't seem quite right with the vague description ? I wouldn't bid without asking a few questions about why it hasn't got a battery or charger(if it hasn't)..... :rolleyes:

In the last 2 days I've seen more electric bikes on my commute than in the previous 2 weeks. Including one person who I came upon riding down a hill and as I got nearer he was riding the same bike! :eek:

Be good to hear how you get on with those as the front brake on my aurora is useless despite all my efforts to adjust it.
