Thanks for advice. I think we are on the same wave length. Trial and error makes me a little uneasy regarding frying controller. From what I have read, the Bafang displays are a work in progress.

The display I selected for my BBS02 is a DPC-18 which has 5 levels in Eco mode and 5 levels in Sport mode. Somewhere l read the odd PAS 1,3 5,7,9 numbers control the Eco levels but no mention of Sport levels. I changed the odd numbers but to seemingly no effect.

What PAS numbers in BBS02 flash memory correspond to Eco and Sport levels on DPC-18?
