Just had a second look at the brake connectors, the ones on the bike are red 2 pin and the ones on the controller are yellow 3 pin. Looks like I need some new levers.

Took it out today after setting up max speed to 72kmph, wheel size to 20 inches, and changed from kmph to mph. It went great, better than a stock one I imagine. speed was nearly 20mph with throttle only and power assist worked great. Did about 5 miles on the flat and up some hills with power...
