Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

So i bought the casette service kit and swapped it around today. The lockring i got today with the set was extremly light so i opted to use the old one. 10g difference! . Installed, tightened as much as i could, i didn't have a socket to fit the lockring tool to torque it to 40nm. Indexed...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

I've advised them of the locking spline, i'll see when/if they reply tomorrow. I had a look at the sunrace website. In the mean time i wonder if this will fit my current set if i dont get anywhere with the bike shop. https://sunrace.com/product/spcs11/

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

It has been something i've adjusted to in the last few hundred miles. Maybe it wasn't smart jumping to an ebike after many years of not riding a normal one. :p Pedalling off at lights is awful at times, it does at times feel like i'm fighting against the motor instead of it working with me. I...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

So chain checker came in. Still all good as it doesn't through 0.5m so can only assume its the cassette. Here's the following response from the bike shop. Looks like i might try out a new cassette. Ebikes tend to go faster than normal bikes so using the lower gears will be likely, Rarely a need...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

I'm gonna contact the bike shop where i bought it. Still under warranty, still dont think its acceptable to be replacing the cassette with how much riding i've done so i'll see what they say. I'll have to free up a day to visit them. If no luck i'll grab the shimano cassette unless anyone knows...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

I posted a picture earlier on with the chain checker on the chain but it only checks for 0.75-1 wear. The Park tool is 0.5/0.75. Good spot on those bent edges, i cant lie. I have skipped hard in some cases and being on the heavier side doesn't help lol. I have a KMC chain which doesn't have...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

I just need to clarify here that the bike wasn't bought/assembled by leisure lakes. I went to them to fix an issue with a chain guard bracket which they did and i mentioned the skipping. Bike was Purchased from Woodrup in leeds which was a couple of hours drive and i just couldn't be bothered...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

Honestly thought i had, park tools videos have been a great learning tool. All gears are shifting fine when on a bike stand but it's a different matter when riding. I'll give it another check but if the bike shop couldn't fix the skipping even after tightening the casette. Their exact words were...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

Muc off wet lube. Having a look at the Hypoid 90, it seems to be actual oil for a motorbike? Do people actually use this to lube bike chains?!

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

The checker i have only checks 0.75 and 1%. I'll grab one that has 0.5, checked it a few minutes ago and still doesn't slip through at 0.75. Here's a picture; Thanks for that info, as my previous post i do a thorough clean, bike came with a KMC X11 chain and i bought some extra chain links...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

I've been cleaning the bike thoroughly (cassette and chain) every 2-3 weeks and if its particularly dirty i'll clean it over the weekend. Chain is also removed and cleaned by submerging into a degreaser. I have bought a bunch of tools in the last few months, chain stretch checker too and so far...

Having to replace Cassette after only 500 miles Cube Touring Pro 625

Hi guys, bought a new Cube Touring Pro last July and have since used it to commute to work twice a week for a total of 44 miles per week give or take. Some weeks i just go to the office once. I hadn't owned a bike in donkeys years so had to relearn about maintenance. I had a bit of chain...
