It is worse. It is one of the things I dislike and cannot wait to be able to afford to change to another system of changing the gears. It seems ok (sometimes) when on the flat but not if you are going uphill. you have to stop pedalling for two seconds before the gear changes. Terrible.

Can't you strap the battery packs to a vest so you look like a suicide bomber? (bad taste?) :p

On my Kalkhoff C8 I have to wait close to a second for the gear to change as I wait for the motor to cut out. It will not change while there is power on. I hate it, but will have to live with it for now.

A chest mounted option put me off too alex. Not sure how it does it TBH. Would be very cool if it was built into a watch with lots of other health functions on.

Nope mine is still not up. I only expanded a little on some of the things the OP made as I have one of the bikes he was talking about. I did plan on doing my own review of my bike but not until I have it fully working after getting a new charger and battery back from 50C. Unfair to review it...
