I know there could be numerous causes for this, but what are the most likely problems when you lose power for between 2 and about 20 seconds? Are there any diagnostic techniques? Regards.

Do you have the digital display on the bars, these give error codes that can help. I've had a wide variety of electrical gremlins on my 906 and I'd not guessed any of them, some I never got to the root of.
An example was the fuse holder, it had gone brittle and broken in the battery casing, the connection relied on the spring action of the internal cable to keep it in place, bumps would make it lose power. Then there was when the fuse holder (I think it was that anyway) came loose. I've had a series of strange cutouts that went away and for a while I'd lose all power when the battery got to about half charge but that seems to have stopped now.

I have a similar problem with my 905se although in my case, it’s a momentary ‘blip’ in the power delivery. It’s probably no more than a second and certainly nothing like 20 seconds. I have two batteries and get the same problem when using either of them. Due to an unrelated problem, both the power control box and the complete rear wheel assembly have been replaced under warranty… that made no difference either. I thought it might be one of the brake lever switches so I rode for a while with those disconnected but the problem still occurred so I reconnected them. Not that I often ride using the twist-grip without pedalling but I haven’t noticed the drop-off in the power delivery when using the twist-grip alone. Maybe it’s a problem with the crank sensor but without replacing it, I don’t know of a way to check. I have noticed that the red LEDs that indicate battery capacity don’t go out when the power blips but they do, briefly, indicate full capacity (all four on) immediately the power returns. Has anyone any bright ideas?
