Bafang BSSHD UART - Where to Buy?

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, so if this post is breaking any rules please forgive me and point me in the right direction.

Straight forward question. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy a BBSHD UART Protocol kit either in the UK or will deliver to the UK. I do not want a CAN-BUS version.

I have done pro's and con's of many kits and setups and have decided on this kit which I will be matching with a EggRider for tweaking.

I have to say I was all set on the Tongsheng 8 but dont like what I read about the throttle and upgradability. So please just a good seller is all I'm looking for.

You can get all that stuff from Em3ev. They're not just a seller. They know their stuff and help with the development. If you have any questions, they'll answer them.

In case you don't know, police are clamping down heavily on this sort of thing everywhere. The TSDZ8 can be got in legal version, and there are other ways to get a powerful ebike that's legal, but there's no way round the speed limit of 15.5 mph, other than to pedal hard on a light bike.

Hi thanks for the help. Yeah its not the top speed or even the peddling that bothers me, its the torque, I live in a very hilly area and at 57yo with a dodgy knee I need the help to get up the hills.

At least with the eggrider and its ability to set two profiles I have half a chance if stopped by the old bill. lol.

Is this your first attempt at ebiking? You're not suffering from Internet research syndrome, are you?

There are lots of legal ways to get an ebike that will get you up steep hills with no effort. A BBSHD is over-kill.

You can have as many eggriders as you like. It's not going to help because BBSHD is illegal before you start. That'll be the first thing the police look at. That motor has 1000w deeply engraved into it. Don't forget that the bike has to be clearly marked with the rated power and its maximum speed

No its not my first ebike, I am coming from a DD 1000w Hub, and want to move into a mid drive to use my legs more. I'm not really looking for a lecture on legality. I have to go up and down 25-30% inclines on any journey I do. If you know of a legal option that is going to move my 110kg's up these please tell me. It needs to be a kit. If not thanks for the help mate, but I didnt ask for a conversation about the law.

Well mate living in the north of Scotland it is actually a little bit hilly. Why do I even bother answering idiots? All I asked for was a good place to buy something and find people with more time than sense in their lives. I wish you all luck, but me I dont have the time or inclination for this stuff. Its a shame because it seemed like a good site.

Problem is we get morons who want a motorbike asking questions on a pedelec cycle forum for legal bikes.
1000w is in no way or form a pedelec, the only similarity is a moron trying to use a std bike frame.

A 250w rated TSDZ8 (48v 24A) or a 48v 201rpm 250w rated geared rear hub motor using a 18 -20amp controller. One thing I think I remember @saneagle saying was BBSHD required an unrealistically high cadence to operate at optimum power. I'm nearly the same weight as you and have a BBS02 (48v 25 amp) and that is more than powerful enough to get me up the 33% Rosedale Chimney , those other 2 options I mentioned are legal and would be fine.

Direct Drive hubs are not ideal for heavy riders on steep hills, if that is your experience
