Anyone come across a bottom bracket the hole a bit larger diameter ( not length) than the Bafang motor shaft. Is there a shim collar available

Yes thats not uncommon just made a motor mount to fit out of a steel plate and 33mm hole saw

Please post a picture of the bb was it a push fit or screw in

You need to tell us which bike it is and specifically which bottom bracket you have because there id a large range of sizes. There are some adaptors for the most common ones, otherwise you have to get an engineering shop to turn you up some.

I also have digital calipers, how wide is your BB?

90 mm approx

The standard motor will not fit 73mm max bafang bbs03 100 mm required and probably a bling ring to get the chain line

Not too bothered on length is making up the diameter from about 33 mm to
this Giant bike size 40mm

The spacers / cups are available ebay etc or a machine shop can make them vfr400 posted a link
The width is a nightmare if not correct with gear selection problems and chains falling off
The just add spacers can make the problem even worse the cranks can even catch on the chain stays
just sold on a voodoo canzo because of motor fitting problems but the salsa in my profile pic fitted a dream

First find what bb is fitted type -style -part number then try fsa website or the link in post 7 try luna cycles in the us they used to stock adaptors

Suspect you will have to make one , plastic pipe cut in half is a good filler and a anti rotation bracket and 33mm washer on the other side[ see bafang spacer on ebay]
This is why people struggle to convert a full suspension bike, its trial and error and hand made parts even the same model and year can be different

Bafang supplier is saying that we should match the 90 mm bb
