Hello My wife has a 5 speed shopper powabyke. The charger it would appear has packed in.
I have 240V going in but nothing coming out, I have checked the output from the contacts inside the charger, so I have a fault with the circuit board.
Does anyone know of somebody who can test the circuit board and fix it? £75 for a new charger is alot to fork out.

It's probably a switched mode PSU therefore any one of a few hundred componants which make up the design could have gone wrong. I know it sounds obvious, but have you looked for any inline fuses or any componants that look like fuses? Unless you are pretty good at fault finding on these things a quick repair is unlikely. Having said that.....look for dry joints on the circuit boards. They give the appearance of a dull greyish coloured circle around the soldered legs of bigger componants like capacitors. Reflow any you might find.Good luck

Battery Charger

Cheers for that I have checked the only fuse in the box and thats fine, and as i have no voltage from the two output contacts on the PCB. Will lok for dry joints but think we may have to bite the bullet and buy a new charger.

What type of charger is it? For what cells?
Some of the chargers for NiCd or NiMH won't put out a voltage until they sense the battery. If its one of those then just measuring the output with a voltmeter won't tell you if its working. I've been caught out myself like that.
