Hello All,

Who are the experts on here when it boils down to choosing between theses two top of the range 18650 batteries?

Before I make a purchase online could someone advise me on what to buy? Out of the two I am looking for one that gives out the best continuous output and running time when under load.

(A) Panasonic 18650 ?
Or
(B) Sony 18650 ?

Funny you should say that because I have both and I've been comparing. There's very little difference at 15A, but I'd say that the Panasonic holds its voltage slightly better. It also depends exactly which cells you have as there's several types of each brand.

Not sure d8veh if I'm searching in the right place but most people are reviewing theses batteries with the use of EEC- (electric vapour cigarettes) and not on cycle lights.

On Ebay I've seen Sony's rated up to 30A. This is what this guy had to say:

OK, you're talking about batteries for lights. I thought you meant for the bike. I should've read the title.

There's so many different types, and new ones coming out every day. The main problem is to sort the fakes from the genuine ones. People are selling Ultrafire ones with 4000mah. Yeah! If you stick to quality branded ones from reputable suppliers, you should be OK. Generally, the ones that give the most current have the least capacity. Which ones are best depends on the type of torch/light you have.

I just watched that video, which seems to be aimed at vapers, which has become a more complicated science than ebikes. Some guys run their devices at massive currents and disappear under a cloud of steam every time they suck on their device. I guess they're the equivalent of the guys that run their ebikes at 40 mph. You don't need big currents for lights, so go for ones with high capacity instead.

Lol ! That happens to me most times when rushing to read and skimming over words, so your not alone on that note. Thanks for the advice, I mean advice on the batteries and not for being a sucker

PLEASE, no offence to those electric cigarette fan users, each to their own.:)
