BBS1b service

Does anyone know anyone who services a BBS1b.?

Mine has started making a strange noise when I pedel.

Have you tried greasing the large gear that sits behind the chain ring plastic cover ?

I'm not keen on opening it up.

I'd rather send it for a service

Ah ok, sorry I can’t help then.

The gear does need greasing every 500 miles or so, hence acquiring the skills / tools to diy would be worthwhile.

If you do end up having the motor serviced, get them to fit one of these covers, which includes a grease nipple:

I use Mobil SHC 100 Grease

I use Mobil aircraft grease 28.

Another potential culprit for the strange noise when pedalling is the (replaceable) freewheel pawls, which have failed before on my bbs01.

It’d be best to elimate the lack of grease first

I use a 5ml syringe, applying a tiny bead into each tooth
