Did he make a claim for the bike?

The bluetooth feature to pinpoint location is a good idea.

Expensive subscription without insurance - is annual?

This is a pretty weird exclusion in their insurance Ts and Cs:

"xii) Any loss, damage or theft directly or indirectly caused by, happening through, in consequence of
or contributed to by;
• An epidemic, pandemic or other such health warning, and declared as such by the
Ministry of Health and/or the World Health Organisation;
• Arising from any fear or threat (whether actual or perceived) of such epidemic or
pandemic being declared or occurring;
• Any action taken in controlling, preventing, suppressing or in any way relating to any

outbreak of such epidemic or pandemic."

Also lol:

ix) Loss or damage caused by or arising from an act, including but not limited to, the use of force or
violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group of persons whether acting alone or
on behalf of or in connection with any organisation or government, committed for political,
religious, ideological or similar purposes including the intention to influence any government
and/or put the public or any sector of the public in fear resulting directly or indirectly from or in
connection with the release of nuclear, biological, chemical or radiological agents.

x) Any legal liability or consequence associated with or caused by war, invasion, act of foreign
enemy or hostilities (whether war is declared or not); civil war, rebellion, revolution or
insurrection, riot, civil commotion, loot or pillage in connection with this, strikes or lockouts;
military power or coup; nuclear or radioactive escape, Accident, explosion, waste or

contamination; aircraft or other aerial devices.

no dongles:

xiii)Any loss, damage or theft of Your Insured Items arising from any modification to Your Bicycle or
fitted Accessories using non-standard or non-advised Components or processes.

Before insurance, £170 + subscription is already pretty pricey. Think I'll pass, especially since my bike wouln't be covered by events arising from (vaguely defined exclusions) fear of pandemics, or when Russia invades. :eek: I can probably convert a bike for less money.

Not if the tracker's bluetooth name can be changed to "Samsung A3" - when the manufacturer has provided software for such, I can rename some bluetooth printers to anything I like.
