Bosch crank arm removal - damaged thread

Thinking about this further, and this is without actually checking to see if it would work.

Assuming the puller is comprises of two parts, an outer which threads/screws into the stripped crank arm, and an inner that that tightens and pulls the crank arm off, I am wondering whether you could screw the outer into the crank arm as best that you could, then put a larger jubilee clip round the crank arm, and bridge the outer, so that it cannot be removed.
You might then be able to tighten the inner, and pull the crank arm off.

As said though, I haven't checked to see if this is possible to do, but it could be another option to investigate.

Bosch use an ISIS crank, so it should come off fairly easily once you unscrew the retaining bolt.
