Bosch motor, plastic part hanging off

Hi

I got my new Trek emtb a couple of weeks ago, and have noticed a part hanging off, inside the plastic part it seems a bit tacky, as though it is normally glued on.

Is it something i should be concerned about? does it need professional attention, or can i just put some tape on it to hold it on? i'm worried about water ingress, but it doesn't seem as though it's a watertight part. I"m taking it back to Evans in a month or so, for their six week tune up.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Its just a plastic cover.. I bet this heat has melted the glue. Stick it back on again and you'll be good to go.

My mates fell off his bike too
All he did was cleaned off the sticky residue and stuck it back on with some silicone sealer taped it while it dried and it hasn’t moved since and that was a year ago

Thanks, i've tried sticking it back on with the glue still on it but it keeps coming off again, so i'll use some silicone sealer as you suggested.

Strong double sided tape should do the job, clean both sides with isopropanol first.
