Not exactly an ebike thing is for one of the other bikes. It started off a mountain bike and is slowly turning into an oversized bmx. Has anyone taken apart a shimano screw on thing? I have 2 that came off old bikes and plan to do the same as the guide but double up on sprockets so I can use a super fat 3/16 chain with a similar double up on the front chainring(s).

I have, albeit by accident when I was refurbishing my claud butler and hadn't at that point got a freewheel removal tool. The lockring came loose quite easily whilst the freewheel was still attached to the wheel. Ironically, I found it relatively easy to then remove the freewheel from the axle as all the flats gave me something to get some purchase on.
I even dismantled the freewheel mechanism itself (take care with the pawls).
I also got it all back together and working again. It's now in my spares box.
