Due to a recent cardiac arrest I am now unable to drive. I have had a defibrillator fitted in my chest.

Prior to this I had been getting into cycling having bought a Carrera Crossfire hybrid mountain bike that I am very pleased with.

Halfords do an electric version of their Carrera Crossfire for £1100 so if any of you have an opinion I would be grateful to hear it.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Matt

Hello CM,

the Carrera Crossfire does not have a throttle.
perhaps you should consider a bike with full throttle, just in case it's too much effort to cycle home.

The Crossfire has an issue, mainly with power supply from the battery. It cuts out some times.

Ideally for less stress on your heart, consider any bike with a high torque 201rpm hub motor a bpm hub motor with a throttle or an Ezee hub bike. The ease at which you can ride them is ideal for any one with a major medical condition, if you feel like giving it some beans then no problem and you can turn the assist down. If you want a rest just leisurely turn the cranks for effortless riding or use the throttle.
