Carrera e-crossfire, scraping noise from motor.

Hello. I have a old secondhand carrera e-crossfire. I'm aware of the cut out issue, but haven't experienced it myself, but I'm getting a scraping noise from the motor, it's definitely the motor I've checked everything else, with the motor off the wheel spins with no noise when you turn the peddles. My battery life seams to have reduced, I'm guessing this is to do with drag, Has anyone else had a issue like this? I'm considering just replacing the motor, any recommendations on a motor I can just plug in and go? I've attached a photo of the spec of the bike.

What ever the issue I don't think you can just swap the motor out for any other one, if I'm not wrong the motor wire connector is different to the std 9 pin Julet commonly used elsewhere.
Is ot a scraping noise or electrical contact noise ?
