My booster battery (2s so 8.4v and 9ah) is being charged via a dirt cheap 2s lipo balance charger. And charges via the balance leads

It take forever ! The charger says 3,700ma on rear.

If I were to buy a 7.2 -8.4 RC lithium charger and charge via main /output leads will it charge much faster ? There are plenty on eBay for 5 to 10 GBP

I was thinking I would balance charge once a week or something and fast charge rest of time

My 36v 9ah 8fun pack charges at least twice as quick (and I suspect quite a bit faster still)

Thanks

The Imax chargers aren't bad, but you need a 12v 5A power supply too. You can use an old PC power supply if you have one, or get one from the local tip.

Have you used the booster pack yet?

I'll get a supply from local car boot this Saturday - bound to be one

Also - you and others have advised me to ensure that all wiring is thick enough to ensure current gets through

My understanding is that voltage is unaffected here - just amps - hence soldering a shunt works

Is that right ? What happens if there is a weak point ? I think that spot will get hot and my amps gets limited

Is that right please ?
