The Co-op is offering a new online delivery service, initially from their Kings Road store in Chelsea, utilising e-cargobikes.com.
Deliveries to homes and offices within a 4 kilometre/2.5 mile radius will be made using an e-cargo bike able to use cycle lanes and navigate traffic more efficiently for doorstep deliveries within 2 hours: “A task neither diesel or electric vans could complete cost effectively” says the Co-op. The plan is to roll the service out to further London stores in due course.
Chris Conway, Head of Food Digital at the Co-op, said: “This is an exciting time for the Co-op. As the leaders in convenience shopping, we want to look at different ways of bringing our award-winning products closer to shoppers, and this new service with e-cargobikes.com does exactly that.”
