Hello all, I have a beautiful new orange and white M6L with a 44t chainring. I want to convert to electric as it is very hilly near me and I also think it will be a lot of fun. My maximum range will be 30 miles each way and would be able to charge up before returning.

There are many options, I am down to three:

1 Swytch. £750 (pro kit)
2 Zehus £1500 + fitting cost
3 Sparticle V9 S886 £1050 (with overdrive)

I would appreciate feedback from any users out there. Thanks.

if you want 60 miles range, wait until next week.
We'll start selling our kits for the Brompton from June.

I have a Swytch kit. Good design, easy install and smooth operation. But, my controller packed in over 2 months ago and I’m still waiting for a replacement.

Previously I’ve had a Sparticle kit. Massive power, but very heavy and requires widened forks. Great for speed and going up hills but not very Bromptony. Support at Bristol (Mark) very good.

I have had others products from Woosh and their service and support is second to none. If I was looking for a Brompton kit today this would be my first choice.

I’ve no experience of the Zehus kit. I‘ve read about it and it looks good but at that price I’d rather buy the Brompton ebike.

Thanks. Adding to this conversation, what do users think of the Brompton Nano? I’m particularly interested in how it copes with hills and also its speed.

I did look at the Rambletta before choosing the Brompton, I will make sure that I check out your new conversion kit before I commit one way on another.

I quite fancy a factory electric Brompton but £3000 wow?
2nd hand normal Bromptons look like in short supply else I would consider a conversion.

Interesting. How much? Does it fit into the standard front forks without widening?

yes, it's the Q70, it just drops in.
You transfer the tyre and innertube from the old front wheel to the motor wheel, drop in, tighten the wheel nuts with a 13mm spanner.

The motor wheel looks like this:

The current batch has the rims painted black as you see on the picture, spokes are stainless.
From September, the rim will be natural silver.

How much?
Originally £529 with 13AH small frog battery but because of the dollar rate, £579 from June. If you want more range, £679 with the 17AH HL battery.
If you choose the small frog battery, you can choose front mount (bolted to the bag carrier mount) or seat post mount.
If you choose the HL battery, it will go on the maintube.
Either way, no drilling necessary!
The battery is locked and supplied with two keys, you can leave it on the bike when parked.
You don't need the key to ride the bike, only to remove the battery.

Thanks for the information. Do you have a pic. Of a folded bike?

I’m also interested in your Brompton kit, I look forward to seeing pictures.
Looking forward to seeing those pictures today. I’m sure that there are a lot of potential buyers out there mulling on whether to confirm their Swytch purchase or not.

this is the HL kit for the Brompton:

The HL kit is particularly easy to fit, it should take less than 1 hour and requires only a crank puller beside a set of allen keys.

The small frog kit is a bit smaller, but I am still waiting for a new controller to arrive later this week.

Do please show some pictures of the setup with the frog battery on the luggage block once the new controllers arrive. The above looks like a tidy, practical solution but aesthetically it doesn’t work for me. Sorry.

The fact you can fold it without removing the battery is a plus point however.

it's the same kit we supply with the XF07 wheels.

the differences are:

- a shorter LCD cable for the Brompton.
- a shorter 9-pin motor extension cable compared to the XF07 kit
- a special pedal sensor carrier for the Brompton to make it easier to fit
- a smaller LCD, KD58C instead of the larger King Meter KM529. You can choose the KM529 if you like.

The small frog kit has a new controller but does not need extension cables.

I prefer the small frog kit that hangs on the seat post.
You can see the attachment on the seat post.
That's where the battery base is bolted to.
It's also the easiest kit to fit. Easier than the HL kit.
You also get a free rear light built into the small frog battery.

Where does the controller fit?

the controller is especially thin and lightweight (85mm×45mm×22mm ), installed in a mobile phone case, mounted onto the handlebars.
