Could a Carrera Crossfuse E owner please count chain links

Mine has 117 links plus the quicklink that a LBS put in for me. Halfords were puzzled by this as a 9 speed was supposed to be 116 according to those in the box.

Depending on the drive gear used simple method is remove chain from derailleur and place said chain on front and rear largest gear, when taut the chain should have 1 extra link for Sram or two for Shimano where the ends cross.
