Hello all
I recently purchased a second hand Carrera Crossfire E bike. So far it has been very good but does have one very odd and annoying fault: The odometer reads 4 x greater than it should!!
Here’s the story…
I bought the bike with 450 miles showing on the Trip and full Odometer, so the trip had never been reset, but there was no suggestions that anything was wrong.
I did notice that the backlight light dimming function didn’t work… but that wasn’t likely to be an issue.
I reset the trip meter as per the manual, and after the first ride showed over 100 miles clocked up (both trip and odometer ) clearly something was wrong
I purchased a CatEye speedo and that confirmed that the bike’s meter was reading fractionally over 4 x too high. The speedometer functions were however within a gnat’s of each other.
As expected…. Halfords don’t have a clue and Suntour just refer me back to Halfords.
Any suggestions????
