Just noticed this has started to appear on the cytronex site.

Very tasty looking - just ignore the price!

Quick search and I've found the weight of a super six is just over 7 kilos. Therefore with the cytronex kit I would guess about 12kg - Yum!

While I'm sure this will attract a lot of attention (which I'm sure is the intention), I would like to see the lower end rounded out. For example a 700C wheel bike at £1200 I'm sure would be very popular...

Gosh

Although my 7300 is wonderful and I am riding it to work most days if my Brompton and "kit" work out I may sell the Cytronex.

Then again perhaps a backup ebike is always worth having :p

Jerry

A bit more, 13.6 kilograms. Here's the link to it's page:

Click on the pic to see it in all it's expensive glory.

Yes, better price but it's heavier at 15 kilos. My link came out to the wrong model first time, but I've corrected it now. (edit) Our posts crossed Jerry!

Of course there's always the BH Emotion drop handlebar model from Onbike at 13.5 kilos, less weight and less money then either of these:

Emotion Sport DeLuxe

Call me stupid, but why am I looking at tooth brushes?

:D
Their core business is in dental products, so there's some confusion on their sites, going under various names, NoHills, Cytronex etc.

Not quite sure how they made the transition from dental care to cycling, one keeps the teeth in, the other can knock the teeth out.

Sorry, that's right, my mistake, but at way under half the price, still worth a look.

That's a very cool looking bike indeed

"When one rolls up to the line, heads turn. It's a harbinger of victory and is pro-Tour proven, constructed entirely of HI-MODulus, unidirectional carbon fiber that's tuned for the most precise, efficient ride available today. "

That said it's a tad expensive for me.

Hey Jerry - Much a I love my Brompton I find the 16" wheels make it a bit "twitchy" for commuting in traffic.

PS. I think association with the dental care products is because they are both keen cyclists and the ride to Modern times in Winchester is rather hilly.

I can't see the reference to the 13.6 kg weight (but could easily have missed it). Are you sure you're not confusing it with the Capo?

I'm amazed you're already considering selling the Cytronex!

I guess I am fickle. I find myself changing my mind about most things most days.

Seriously, I like the Cytronex and I doubt I will sell it, unless I find myself using the Brompton exclusively.

Having purchased it second hand, I am almost certain I can get what I paid for it near enough.

In terms of my commute hardly any of it is on main roads with traffic. Back streets and cycle paths.

Regards

Jerry

Just noticed on the photo of the new one it doesn't show the reading light. Either it's left off or Cytronex are fitting a much lower profile solution. I hope it's the latter as I liked the idea but didn't particularly like the look...

Nothing wrong with that. The Brompton sounds like a great project. The acceleration and uphill speed will certainly takes people and other cyclists by surprise.:D
My father saw, what he believes was an electric brompton racing up a hill and couldn't believe how fast it was moving - for a folder.

Are you seriously thinking of buying one ;)

Nope - I'd never get it signed off by my finance director (i.e. wife!) and even if I could scrape the money together I'd be too scared to ride it or leave it anywhere.

I was thinking though if they have a neater solution for the reading light it would hopefully make its way to the lower end models and I can imagine updating my bike to a later model - especially when/if my company starts the cycle to work scheme which is being talked about for next year.

I haven't overtaken anyone yet, I can't wait to get passed the puffing lycra racers going up our local hills :D (as long as they remain below 25km/h, that is) :p
