Another stupid question….
So, if I can get hold of a TongXin motor I will soon be building my ebike. My bike at the moment has drop bars and cantilever brakes and I am happy with this setup. I can’t find levers with cutouts that will work with drop bars as I need hoods. Maybe I can put microswitches into my existing levers? I will need to look into this.
Even the straight handlebar levers are probably not too suitable with canti brakes as they have large, low tension cable pull designed for v-brakes. I know the brakes will work but will not work well. I could of course change the brakes to v-brakes (or at least I think I can, are the bosses in the correct place) but this will get expensive.
Any ideas? Anybody else encountered this issue? My prefered option is to take to my existing levers with a drill press and try and fit switches.....
