2 things:
Firstly the high end German makers, Cube and Kalkhoff, are sold out of much of their range and quoting a month or more for delivery.

Secondly, I've just listened to a feature on Radio 4 (You and Yours) featuring E Bikes with Victoria Pendleton (presumably riding the Halfords bike although it didn't say)

Watch out for a boom this Summer!

Not many members clock up that many miles in two years!
Would you mind post your running cost so far?

Just introduced 20 teenagers and theirs parents (school MTB club ride) to ebikes today. They all gave my bike quick ride at end of day. One fit long distance adult ride took 1sec to decide there was one in his future. Most of kids can also see one in their distant future.

Cost me so far £350-£450 for maintaining tyres, brake pads, chain and cassette but this also includes all the tools and stand to do the work myself . Not including charge cost which is not an issue for lol

Interesting. I recently bought a new Haibike and visited several different ebike shops to to test ride various models. At one of the shops, I won't say which, I overheard quite a revealing telephone conversation between the shop owner/manager and what I'm almost certain was a Raleigh/Haibike representative. Obviously I only heard one side of the conversation but a few things were abundantly clear. Said ebike shop were not at all pleased to have discovered that Evans had begun stocking Haibikes as they had apparently been given assurances from Haibike that this would never happen. And they only found out by chance, Haibike had not told them about this. They felt that Evans stocking Haibikes devalues what they're offering. I took that to mean that if the bike chain stores such as Evans begin selling Haibikes then the specialist / boutique ebike shops lose part of their USP.

Make of that what you will.

Yes I found that stock was a problem when I recently bought my Haibike. It seemed to be a problem more generally with high end German manufacturers and other high end eMTB manufacturers. I think this might be in part because Haibike and other manufacturers are rapidly expanding into the US market,

I've also over the past year or so noticed an increasing number of ebikes when out and about. I went out for a 90 minute ride the other day and spotted four ebikes. And last year we rented a beach hut for the day on Bournemouth promanade and it seemed like every other bike that went past was an ebike (slight exaggeration, it was actually more like one in eight that was an ebike).
