It depends how steep they are and how heavy you are (sorry to be a bit personal). I would suggest you try a few bikes out for comparison.

I've lost weight due to ill health. Now at 9 stone. This is why i need an electric bicycle. One that will get up Codden Hill for example. With a bit of pedal power too of course. Just wondered if the Hawk would be similar to a Big Bear in power?

Just seen your other post about the Woosh bikes. The new Freego models claim to have a new motor but it's likely to be less powerful than the Big Bear. The crank motor on your current bike will get up steeper hills than the hub motors you are looking at but up to 20% should be OK.
