Looking to upgrade the 250watt hub to a 500watt hub but need to squeeze the back forks to 135mm space. Can this be done safely? Thank you for looking

The frame is metal, so it bends. Lever it, use nuts on threaded bar etc, heat it or whatever else. Take your time and it will be fine. Any manaufacturer is likely to say they "don't suport it", bla, blah as you'd expect. Have a search there are plenty of examples on the forum.

You won't get any extra performance from a 500w motor without also upgrading the controller and LED/LCD panel. I've been running a Bafang 250w motor simular to yours with this controller and display for a while now without any issue.

The rear frame on bikes with full size wheels can safely be stretched by 25 mm or so. I even do that to change tubes or tyres without taking a wheel out:

Pulling in is less risky since no risk of breaking frame joint welds, but 35 mm is rather a lot and could leave the dropouts not at a right angle to the spindle. Ideally pull in a bit and add a couple of spacers, one each side or wherever best to centralise the wheel.

By all accounts the company thats doing the job says its ok i hope, and will add a Torque Arm as always fitted by them, but thank you for pointing that out to me. I'll email them the point uve put to me and see what they say to it

The frame measurement now / as manufactured / standard issue.
I see you have posted it is 170, if this is an aluminium frame no it is not safe! As Flecc says the dropouts won't be parallel. You are putting massive stresses into the chainstays. Unless the company doing the jop is going to properly stress relieve and heat treat the frame.

It's a shame you did not ask for more advise here before you went ahead with this "upgrade". Fitting a large, heavy DD hub motor to your bike is not going to improve it, apart from removing the speed restriction. Fitting a 20 amp controller and LCD3 to your existing motor, as I suggested would.

See the links in post #5, that controller will fit into your existing housing and run sweet with your existing motor, but will prob. need some soldering/wiring. Please don't think I am trying to ruin your plans, but I can't help getting a bit "shouty" when I see someone taking a wrong turn.
