I am looking for a new handlebar for my Oxygen scross. Currently got the original straight bars but I would like to change them for a pair of leisure type bars to try and take a little weight off my old shoulders. Also want a pair of new grips. Any suggestions much appreciated

Raleigh North Road or North Rounder. Both cost about £13. Humpert Moon Cruisers are a bit cheaper. Basically, you're looking for trekking handlebars.

Those mentioned are 1" in the centre. Your stem is 1 1/8" IIRC, but you don't say whether you have the City or MTB version. If you presently have 1 1/8", you can either shim it with one of these or get a new stem too to suit.

I've been a fan of North Road bars, but bought a cheap hybrid recently with a set of On-one mary bars fitted.

I actually prefer the marys now.

Has anyone any experience with the XLC brand of bars and grips. Look reasonable value

got a XLC Comp Ergo bar from LBC. Could have got a bit cheaper on net but thought nice to support small business. Anyway they seem to fit the bill well. Maybe could have done with a little bit more return, but no real problem. Also fitted a pair of Ergon GP1 grips which really help
