I'm a lazy overweight 5'9" 14 stone bloke, owner since new of a 2002 GT Avalanche 2.0 that has done less than 300 miles since I bought it, looking here for your advice on conversion, I have 40 years in mechanical engineering.

Rear hub motor kit using KT electronics is the best option, one can opt for mid drive kits but the kits tend to be unreliable after a 1.5k miles in my experience.
