Hi, I’m the owner of a Carrera Crossfire E, I bought it about 5 years ago, using it mainly when away in my Motorhome, usually with my 7 kilo dog Billieboo in a bag on the bars.
When I first got the bike I had the occasional complete shutdown, removing and refitting battery put it back to normal each time. The settled down to working perfectly.
Earlier this year started to get the E42 message, usually when riding for a while then slowing or stopping, usually needs a few minutes stop before I can get going again.opened up the large connector, was wet inside, sprayed with wd40, no improvement, next step will be cutting out the connector, this will have to wait as I’m in Spain at the moment, with limited tools.

The water may be the issue for the E42 error as this is the code for motor hall failure.
When you get back post again on this thread and we can tell you how to test the motor halls, if indeed one or more has failed the hub will need opening to carry out repairs.
