Hey guys it’s been a while.
sooo. For a few years I’ve had an ado16
very little trouble until it just quit on me I guess it’s the motor. Took to a bike shop who does e bikes. Couldn’t fix I don’t think he even opened it.
alas I’ve put it to one side and looking for something else.
I need lightweight (ado was just able to carry). I live upstairs with knowwhere to store. therefore need to carry it.
by searching lightweight it tends to be really expensive stuff. But along came heybikes and Fiido

and now obviously once I’ve searched all these other things pop up on my feed.
trying to keep the list short.
and pay under £1500. i joirney to work early every morning and have a bike shed when I get there. another question is it advisable to stand an e-bike on its back wheel.

I’ll try n post the Heybike /fiidofor reference.

suggestions please.
cheers.

It's a shame you guys always live miles from civilisation. I'd have that Ado 16 fixed in about 5 minutes. Motors don't break, especially in 16" wheels.

do you have any solutions to a fix for my ado then. It has power, but motor will not kick in . I can’t pedal it it’s too heavy.

From a diagnotics angle - does walk assist work ?

Is the motor cable connector in right up to the line ?

Ha ha. Now you’re asking ? Erm. If you mean can I walk beside it n push. That’s a struggle too. It does move, and no idea about connector ? I’ll have to dig it out its under blankets behind my settee
cables are all internal

Most likely either a motor connector issue or PAS sensor not aligned with the magnet disc.

Usually there is a function on the screen (eg press and hold + button) that will power the bike at walking pace so you don't have to push it, called walk assist

motor cable connector :
63110

As @Nealh says, the other obvious thing is to check the pedal assist sensor (often attached to the pedal axle )

That Fiido says 24.5kg
Thats pretty chunky for what is a town bike.

The Woosh is a far better choice, especially if you have to carry or lift it anywhere.

No idea how that manage to make these simple town bikes weigh so much. Maybe they're hiding lead in it :D

Some brake sensors need only a nudge to crack the lever open when poorly adjusted with no spring tension to hold the gap closed resulting in an unintended motor cut off signal? disconnecting brake cut off sensors temporarily will rule out problems in that area.

No need for brake sensors if using a nice controller with fast stop response, though tbh if using a speed control device I would always fit at least one.
