I have just managed to ride up Norbury hill on my wisper, this WAS my local obstacle, my nemisis lol (those who know it please don't laugh!)

I could not do it on my non electric bike, it now means I can access crystal palace and other areas a lot easier. Have been out on the bike lots the last 3 weeks since the weather has picked up and really enjoying it. The new stronger rear wheel seems fine and the off road green switch since it was replaced actually seems to do something now.......

We can manage with one car as bike does for all my local needs and more..

I know that, but have never cycled that way Eddie, but it's a fair climb. Here it is courtesy of Google Earth:

That's steeper, here on the same slope scale. I wouldn't call these very steep on e-bikes, but they can be very tiring unpowered:

yes...very tiring unpowered but as you say doable on an ebike...The problem with ebikes is that you get..so used to going up hills that there is always that desire to want to go faster. When you get back on a 'normal' bike it tends to bring you back down to earth.....with a crash !

Thanks for that Tony.....it is a longish hill, But I have learnt when climbing to just take it steady. France October half term, there was a hill which was worrying me all day, as I new I had to get up it later to get back to our motorhome. When it came to it was not that bad at all.......

I know what you mean about the google earth weather, my "street" map must have been taken on the best day of the year....either that or photo technology at play

No clever technology... just the fact that the aeroplanes that take the ariel photos only fly when the weather's nice.

New Forest. Hants.
It's surprising how steep hills really can be though, even when they don't really look it.

The lane from our place to the yard where the horses live is uphill all the way. The car and the e-bike kept this a secret from me until I tried it on the push-bike. Oof. I gave up less than halfway,(I am not very good at pedalling anyway) turned about and went home for the car.

There are some good little sharp 'down and up' ones round us. The PB doesn't 'freewheel' as well as a push-bike--but it sure makes up for that, going up the other side.

Have we any one in the Parkstone, Dorset area. Alder Hills might be a good 'try-out'. Or Constitution Hill.

have you not looked at google maps? where you can select "street view" and navigate up and down your own road outside your house and look around with a 360 deg.view

they went around and photographed everywhere from a vehicle. and the quality is extremely good

It is good quality, shame it's such a small area.
Some good images to be found.
