How do you legislate for this?
If it is regulated then how does it compare with fit athletic riders? Do we ban athletes from public highway?
Does this pose a threat to the whole e-bike industry?

The vid landed in my feed too, 40 secs in 800w PEAK output.
However its a body mod more than a bike mod, Matey boy felt the impact jogging to the bike and walking up hill.

It will be interesting when/if others produce similar augments with a bit more oomph and voltage, somehow these seem limited to 12mph??

No it doesn't.

Look at the wording of Exemption (h) which allows the auxiliary power:

(h) pedal cycles with pedal assistance which are equipped with an auxiliary electric motor having a maximum continuous rated power of less than or equal to 250 W, where the output of the motor is cut off when the cyclist stops pedalling and is otherwise progressively reduced and finally cut off before the vehicle speed reaches 25 km/h;

Then remember what so many forget or never knew, that it is the Spirit of the law and NOT the Letter of the law which is the final determinant, in other words, what parliament intended.

Clearly this breaks the law that parliament intended.

Let's hope the battery doesn't contain cheap explodey Chinese cells, I'm not in the will yet. Doesn't look like it'd fit Rapid Fatso, thank goodness.
