Quick question, my imax beeps at about 4.08... I then start it running again, it generally takes another 30 minutes and beeps again at 4.2, after adding at least another 150mah!!... Battery issue or cheap imax issue?

Sounds like the configuration option that cuts the charger after 5000 mAh of charge or specified time.

Maybe! Iv seen 5000mah on the display somewhere when iv been lost scrolling through the menus

Mine are set for 9990 mAh now because the capacity of my packs is 10000 mAh. It is a security feature to prevent overcharging and is was set to 5000 mAh on all my chargers of different types by default.

Im only charging a cell at a time tho so may have to look else where for the problem, thanks for the advice tho all goo learning.. When iv finally built this battery 10000mah it is

You can make it beep and stop after a fixed time and/or a fixed amount of charge. You need to set those two to realistic values for the battery you're charging and whether you want to check its state at any point during the charge.

Not sure if that would do it the imax says 4.2 on its screen then on remaval and restng the are below, could always set for 4.21, trust my volt meter over the chinese knock off

Try testing with your voltmeter while the charger is connected and the screen on. That will confirm whether the screen is showing the same voltage.

Search for "imax calibration" on Google and you will find the correct procedure to calibrate the charger. My chargers are off by about 0.6V, the battery comes off the charger at 40.9 V, except in balance charge mode where they are spot on so I didn't bother calibrating them for normal charge mode.
