Amazed at the interest in the bikes at the Stoneleigh Kit Car Show

The show at Stoneleigh was principally for Kit Cars but we had some spare space adjacent to our stand so I decided to take 6 electric bicycles. It was a surprise the amount of interest in the bikes from the kit car enthusiasts,I suppose there is some parallels in interest in new forms of transport, some of the Lotus Seven type vehicles are experimenting with electric power, even for racing.
I intended to run the Rally Design stand with the odd glance towards the bikes. However I ended up 100% talking electric bikes.
The Kit Car world is not having a good time at present,it is a product not at the top of most peoples priority list and there was a lot of empty space at the show-the stands are not expensive relative to the NEC. It gave me an idea that maybe I could persuade the organisers to have a part of one of the halls dedicated to electric bicycles, with an electric bike show run in tandem with the kit car show. This would mean that the bike show would enjoy all the infrastructure of the kit car show, with no additional expense. The engineers among the kit car show clearly had an interest in the bikes and I am sure that the engineers in the bike world may also have an interest in the kit cars. the organisers would have more stand space booked keeping the costs down for all.
If others think it a good idea I will ask the organisers. A 4mtr x 4mtr stand was about £350,it was a 2 day show.
What do others think?
